Do it yourself dried floral crown

Let me start off by saying I am not professional at making these. I'm just a photographer who loves to do crafts and also save a penny! These floral crowns are to be used for photographs. Do not leave the crown on your infant unsupervised.

Things you'll need

  1. Scissors
  2. Hot glue gun
  3. Jersey knit fabric preferably white or cream 14 inches long and 2 1/2 inches wide
  4. Baby breath-dried floral as base
  5. Any small dried flowers
  6. Small styrofoam ball
  7. Optional finger protector for the hot glue

Dried Floral

I used dried floral from Hobby Lobby

you can order some from Amazon as well.

Small dried flowers

These are the ones I used. I cut these suckers at the very tip of the stem.

Dried baby breath

This was used as my base. I cute these about an inch long and stared glueing to the fabric

Use a base

I used a styrofoam ball from Hobby Lobby.

I obviously used it as a base to tie the headband around. Made it hella easier to glue the floral to the fabric.

I can't remember the diameter but I picked the smallest one they had. The 14-inch long and 2-1/2-inch wide jersey knit fabric will fit an infant, toddler, and older child.

The outcome

This is what it looks like when you glue the baby's breath in any direction. For a more put-together crown, you will need to glue the floral all in one direction. These do shed after a few uses. I suggest you use a spray adhesive when you're done gluing.
